ePGP-IDL now ePGP (No IDL)

Guys,

Good news for all of you who have taken admission or are thinking about EPGP course of IIMK through Hughes Network. As confirmed by EPGP chairman Mr Unnithan Anandakuttan yesterday i.e. 15th Mar 2011, the EPGP course which was being branded as being conducted through Interactive Distance Learning (IDL) will now be branded as EPGP (No IDL) and students passing out will be conferred Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management with no mention of IDL in there. Also convocation ceremony is being planned for ePGP-01 batch on 19th March 2011. It seems out 0f 40 participants 36 have completed the course requirement for EPGP and is being conferred the degree. The ceremony will be together for both PGP and ePGP-01 which shows the level of importance and commitment being given by IIMK for the program.

Kudos to IIMK

Vinay

    1. Sumit,
I am not sure which book would help but surely EMAT format is similar to MAT format for which there are books in the market… Yes you can call me at the number…. If I am busy in that case I would return your call

      Regards
      Vinay

  3. Hi Vinay,

Is there negative marking for the eMAT entrance exams? Please let me know.

And one more thing, placement facilities are there or not for this programme.

    Regards,

  4. Hi Vinay,

IIMK is the 4th one B-School as indian ranking or 5th? Please let me know?

    Regards,

    Sumit Sinha

    1. I don’t think it matters if it is 4th and/or 5th. Each evaluation done would yield different result. But one thing is certain that it comes under top 10. Also I feel one cannot really rely on college ranking..

  5. Hi Vinay,

I have 6 yrs of IT experience, currently preparing for GMAT. Would enrolling for ePGP would be a good option? Read in your blog that this program should not be compared to PGP due to various reasons including ROI etc. So with this experience and expectation of a jump to senior management role, what do you suggest to go for? Can you help.

    1. If I am not wrong you must be at SSE/Team Lead position in your company. In case you want to fast track your career I would suggest you to do EPGP (full time) from any IIM and therefore give GMAT and then get into some company through campus placement. IIMK EPGP would not offer you any placement.

  6. Hi Vinay,

Thanks for posting such useful info, it has been really beneficial. I have got through EPGP 2011 and have 5+ years of exp in IT. I have read somewhere on internet regarding IIMK offering placement for EPGP as well. Do you have any insight into it?
This program has been there for quite some time, so how’s the market value of this course now?

    Thanks,
    Jatin

    1. Wonderful!!!… Unfortunately there is no placements for EPGP course for IIMK. Though individual students from every year like our batch and previous batch have formed a placement committee of few people to build industry connect and to get more branding of EPGP course but then it is at a very nascent stage. As of now it is limited to discussions and ideas but because of time constraint of everyone it is not an easy job to do

Market value has to be compared with similar courses… One cannot compare it with PGP courses for sure and not even other EPGP courses which are full time…. What makes PGP and full time EPGP attractive is their placements…. So if there is an option for you for going full time it would be anytime better. But in case you want to do it for self development ,branding and learning you can think of doing this course.
